At STEM Prep Academy, our Jr. Preschool program gives toddlers a warm, playful, and hands-on introduction to school. Designed for children ages 24–35 months, this program helps children build confidence, independence, social skills, and early STEM thinking through sensory play, movement, stories, building, exploration, and discovery.

Our Jr. Preschool is perfect for families who want their child to begin learning in a small, nurturing environment where curiosity is encouraged every day.

Each day in Jr. Preschool is designed to give toddlers a warm balance of routine, play, exploration, movement, rest, and hands-on STEM discovery. Children begin their day with familiar classroom routines that help build independence, confidence, and social skills. Throughout the day, they explore age-appropriate STEM activities, early literacy, sensory play, outdoor learning, music, movement, and open-ended discovery.

Our schedule allows children to learn in the way toddlers learn best—by touching, building, asking questions, moving, creating, and trying again. Whether they are investigating with magnifiers, building with blocks, listening to a story, testing ramps, exploring nature, or learning about a STEM career, each part of the day supports curiosity, language development, problem-solving, collaboration, and school readiness.

Jr. Preschool at STEM Prep Academy is more than a first school experience. It is a place where toddlers are encouraged to explore, ask questions, build, touch, move, create, and try new things.

Young children learn best through play and hands-on experiences. That is why our program introduces early STEM through activities toddlers naturally love, including sensory bins, building blocks, water play, storybook activities, music, movement, nature exploration, and simple design challenges.

Children are not expected to sit all day or complete worksheets. Instead, they learn by doing1

Children explore textures, colors, scooping, pouring, sorting, water, bubbles, nature materials, and safe sensory bins.

Books come alive through building, pretend play, movement, and simple hands-on activities connected to the story.

Children use blocks, soft materials, tubes, cups, and toddler-safe building tools to create, stack, test, and rebuild.

Children observe, compare, mix, pour, predict, and notice what happens during simple science activities.

Children sing, dance, stretch, move, and practice listening and following directions through playful routines.

Children practice sharing, taking turns, using words, making choices, asking for help, and building friendships.

Children enjoy time to move, explore, and develop gross motor skills in a safe and supervised environment.
