Overview: STEM Prep Academy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Part-Time STEM Instructor to join our forward-thinking educational community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about STEM education and dedicated to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. This role is perfect for an educator or student who wants to inspire and nurture children ages 0-8 interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:


Instructional Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective STEM lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and state standards.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and hands-on activities to meet the diverse needs of children.
  • Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance STEM learning.

Classroom Management:

  • Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a productive and safe learning atmosphere.

Project-Based Learning:

  • Facilitate project-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Guide students through the engineering design process, from brainstorming and planning to creating and testing prototypes.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and understanding.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their projects and assignments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.

Student Support:

  • Identify and support students who need additional help and differentiation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to address individual student needs.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEM education.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings and collaborative planning sessions.

Communication:

  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and classroom activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with children.
  • Must have a CDA or willing to enroll in a course (free of charge) within 60 days.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, Education, or college student majoring in STEM or education with 30 credits in early childhood education.
  • Strong knowledge of STEM curriculum and instructional best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of STEM Prep Academy.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time position with work availability between, 7-9 AM & 2:30-6 PM, Monday through Thursday, Fridays 11:30 am- 6 pm, Second Saturday, 9 AM TO 3 PM.

This role is ideal for high school graduates or college students interested in gaining experience in education and working in a dynamic STEM-focused environment. No prior experience is required; we provide all necessary training.


Key Responsibilities:


Support Instructional Activities:

  • Assist lead instructors in delivering lessons and activities across various STEM subjects.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and classroom setups.

Classroom Management:

  • Support lead instructors in maintaining a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist in managing student behavior and ensuring a productive learning atmosphere.

Student Engagement:

  • Engage with students during lessons and activities, encouraging participation and curiosity.
  • Provide additional support to students who need help with their work or understanding concepts.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as taking attendance, organizing materials, and maintaining classroom records.
  • Help with the setup and cleanup of classroom and activity spaces.

Event Assistance:

  • Support the planning and execution of school events, projects, and extracurricular activities.
  • Assist in coordinating field trips, guest speakers, and special projects.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities offered by the academy.
  • Learn and implement best practices in STEM education and classroom management.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education and STEM fields while working in a dynamic and innovative learning environment. Successful interns will be eligible for promotion to STEM Instructor after two years, with a pay raise to $17 per hour.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead instructors in planning and delivering STEM lessons and activities.
  • Help prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom setups.
  • Facilitate small group activities and provide one-on-one support to students.

Classroom Management:

  • Support lead instructors in managing student behavior and ensuring a productive learning atmosphere.

Project-Based Learning:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of project-based learning experiences.
